W.H & O.M.S Statement of Purpose/Vision:

The purpose of the W.H.O.M.S of the A.M.E. Zion Church is to: promote spiritual growth in the knowledge and understanding of God and His plan of redemption for the world, as revealed through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The most important priority is to carry out the "Great Commission" which causes us to make disciples for Christ. Missionaries must be willing to go to all nations, be willing to leave their comfort zones, and be willing to help those who may not look like us, talk like us, dress like us, or smell like us.

The department challenges the missionaries to expand the mission ministry to not only care for people, but to care for God's earth. We (Missionaries) will initiate ministries that will impact all areas of life: spiritually, financially, mentally, physically, and environmentally.

The ministry must be intentional, yet impactful and global. Ministry Intentionality:
- Feeding the Homeless
- Clothing the Naked
- Gender Equality in Workplace
- Safer Places to Live.

Missionaries must reflect that "Missions Matter".
